Charles and Paul Austin received their start in the construction industry by working side by side with their father and both of there grandfathers in their grandfather's construction company. Through the years they learned a variety of skills from masonry work to general construction.

Paul moved to Houston with his mother and 2 sisters where he worked for General Contractors through the 80's and earned his experience "hands on". Charles went into the Navy were he was a sonar technician. After Charles left the Navy he joined his family in Houston where he attended "University of Houston" and "Rice" and majored in Construction Management.
One night the brothers sat down and started talking, they decided to put their practical and academic knowledge to work and follow in the footsteps of there grandfathers hence, JR.D Construction was born. On April 1, 1991, JR. D Construction started as a 2 man team (Charles and Paul) in a garage (single car). From there they grew there company to over 30 employees with there own offices and warehouses.
